| | | Following our announcement in January that EBLEX will be rebranded as AHDB Beef and Lamb, the changeover is set to go ahead on June 10 as part of the Agriculture & Horticulture Development Board’s (AHDB) wider journey to deliver improved benefits for all its levy payers. | | As part of the move, AHDB’s six sectors will each be rebranded with a new collective logo in existing sector colours, reflecting AHDB’s aim to ‘look, feel and behave’ like one organisation. In addition to EBLEX’s rebrand as AHDB Beef and Lamb, the move means BPEX will become AHDB Pork, HDC will become AHDB Horticulture, DairyCo will become AHDB Dairy, HGCA will become AHDB Cereals & Oilseeds, and Potato Council will become AHDB Potatoes. Although our name and brand is changing, all of our output on behalf of levy payers – including the Better Returns Programme, research and development projects, trade and export work, market intelligence, and everything else will continue as normal. For those of you that follow our social media channels such as Twitter, Facebook and YouTube, you don’t need to do anything, our accounts will change name and appear in your feeds as AHDB Beef and Lamb. Future print materials will include the new branding, and in order to ensure costs are kept to a minimum, existing stocks of EBLEX-branded materials will be run down over the next few months before being replaced. Make better silage this year What does better silage actually mean? Better nutritional quality – it's important to match the quality to the needs of the stock, whether that is the energy, protein, fibre or sugars. Better fermentation – the crop must ferment properly in order to be palatable, of good nutritional quality and store well. Better efficiency – making silage in an efficient and consistent way will keep costs down. This is what the experts from recent BRP silage events have suggested producers think about ahead of making silage this year. Check out more of their advice here, and download theBRP manual on making grass silage for better returns. |
