It looks like Winter is finally behind us for another year, as Maldon begins to bloom in the Spring sunshine.  And with Easter just around the corner, bringing the first Bank Holiday weekend of 2012, there is more than just the change in season to get excited about!

You'll find plenty to do this Bank Holiday weekend from Easter activities and springtime events to weekend breaks, dining offers and more!  Whatever you decide to do this Easter you'll be sure to find something in Maldon.

Relax and unwind in the Spring sunshine at the Jolly Sailor, Heybridge Basin and enjoy picturesque views of the estuary, whilst sampling fresh local seafood as they open their outdoor Seafood Bar for season this Bank Holiday weekend (open Good Friday through to Easter Monday).  Or perhaps you're looking for somewhere to enjoy a traditional Sunday roast, a gourmet BBQ or Italian Cuisine?  View our Easter dining ideas.

There is always something going on in Maldon and this Bank Holiday weekend is no different!  Local attractions such as the Museum of Power, Marsh Farm and Layer Marney Tower will host special Easter events.  Whilst Topsail Charters will provide leisurely cruises on the River Blackwater and The Carpenters Arms will host a children's Easter Egg Hunt.  And don't forget the popular Bank Holiday Market will return to the Promenade Park on Easter Monday.  For more information about Bank Holiday weekend events, please click here.

Artist Application for Maldon Art Trail 2012
Artists are being encouraged to apply for this year's Maldon Art Trail to showcase their work in the local area.  This year's Art Trail will take place between Saturday 29th September and Saturday 6th October 2012 inclusive.  All applications must be received by Sunday 27th May 2012.  Find out more.

Route of the Olympic Flame Announced
Maldon District Council have announced the route that the Olympic Flame will be carried in Maldon on Friday 6th July 2012.  The Torchbearer Runners will make their way along Holloway Road, Heybridge to the Causeway up Market Hill, turning right to pass the Moot Hall and down past the Upper Plume School in Fambridge Road towards Mayflower Drive at the bottom of Fambridge Road where the Torch will leave Maldon via the vehicle convoy.  Find out more.
