Welcome to February’s e-news. The eagle-eyed among you may notice that this edition looks slightly different, as we have introduced a number of new features.
Updates from our online video channel, EBLEX TV, are now included, as well as a link to ‘Beef & Lamb Bitesize’, a new five-minute, monthly video that offers a round-up of the latest news, market updates and technical information. As part of Bitesize, we are also inviting you to ‘Ask EBLEX’ and submit videos of you asking questions for our teams to answer.
You may have read recently that plans are in place to re-brand EBLEX, along with the other operating divisions of the Agricultural and Horticultural Development Board (AHDB), later this year. The reason for this is to simplify the family of brands under the ‘AHDB’ name. So EBLEX will become ‘AHDB Beef and Lamb’, DairyCo becomes ‘AHDB Dairy’ and so forth.
A detailed roll-out plan is now being worked up, and our intention is to use in-house resources where possible and use up branded materials, to ensure that the changeover is achieved at minimal cost.
Our existing knowledge transfer brands, such as theBetter Returns Programme, will remain, as will our commitment to adding value to the beef and sheep meat industry and helping the supply chain to become more efficient.
Those of you who attended either our Processor Conference or the British Cattle Breeders’ Club annual conference in January will no-doubt have enjoyed the excellent presentations. Experts from America andAustralia talked about successes in their own industries and there was plenty of food for thought for those in attendance.
Finally, this month we also have our Outlook Conference, which is run jointly with Bpex and DairyCo. Speakers will explore the factors that affect delegates’ businesses and consider some of the possible market trends in 2015.
Feedback and findings will be available afterwards, so watch this space!
