We are a group of micro farmers who welcome anyone who keeps animals or grows vegetables and fruit, or loves cooking! Who would like to come along to our meetings or events and share their experiences with others. You don't need to have lots of animals to be a "smallholder." Many people who grow vegetables, have some bees or maybe a couple of backyard chickens come along and enjoy the meetings and events as well.

Southminster Show - 2011
Danni, Donna, Carlie, Phil and Wayne braved the elements at the Southminster Show on the afternoon on 16 July 2011!  |
| During the rain, we enjoyed a warming cup of tea, as well as sampling Phil's Sloe Vodka and Elderflower delight! Yummy!!!!! |
There was lots to see, although it was very damp and rather cold.
Finally at 4pm the sun came out and those who had stayed enjoyed some displays and attractions.

The sheep didn't mind the rain and when visitors did arrive, they enjoyed all the fussing and patting.

CHRISTMAS IS COMING - TIME TO ORDER THE TURKEY!
Turkey Season is fast approaching, anyone who us interested in poults, should contact Danni.
Either ring or email info@eastessexsmallholders.co.uk
We are planning for the first week of July.
Turkeys can be collected by Danni who will hold them for one day only at Furzedown.
Kelly's price list showing weights of birds is below.
The poults have to be paid for in advance and the order has to be placed by the beginning of June, so they are hatched for July!
