We now have a new Facebook page specifically for our Smallholders.
We’d like to think of it as a notice board for sharing hints , tips and photo’s. We will post our guides and tips documents and articles we come across that we feel smallholders may find useful. This is also a place for collating Medshare & Kitshare contacts in your local area.
Its headed with our new logo so don’t be confused if at first you don’t recognise us – it is still the same dedicated team behind the scenes!
So join us, like us, add some photos, share some tips and feel free to get involved!

Downland Partnership
We are delighted to announce that Farm & Country Supplies have become the Downland franchisee for Herts, Essex, Beds, Bucks, Kent, South Cambs, Suffolk & Norfolk.
Downland is a group of 27 independent agricultural merchants (just like us) that combine purchasing of key products in order to achieve outstanding prices from the best manufacturers.
We will be introducing these new products seasonally throughout the next 12 months. Included in this range are Powdered Minerals, Feed Blocks, Animal Medicines such as Pour Ons & Drenches, Rodenticides & Dairy Sundries.
As you will know we currenlty stock many of these products, however we anticipate the Downland range to improve pricing or the extent of the range in almost every case.
If you would like further information regarding this range, please feel free to call, or visit the Downland website on www.downland.co.uk

We are pleased to announce we wiare now stocking Brinsea again!
These popular incubators have been away from our shelves for a couple of years, but we are pleased to say they are back. Not only are we stocking some of their most popular incubators, we have extended the range to include the Ova Viewing lamp, Incubator Disinfectant, and Eco Glow Brooder.
Also Brinsea have just bought out a fantastic “Care-Free” hen coop which we now also stock. Smallholder Medshare & Kitshare Schemes
If you are a member of the Farm & Country Smallholder Discount Scheme, you can now access a number of money and time saving schemes – including MEDSHARE & KITSHARE.
• Ever had to throw medicines away because you have 2 sheep and the minimum dosage available is for 25? • Ever had to throw fly or worm control away because it went out of date before you managed to use it all up? • Do you manage without pig weighers, turnover crates, cattle crushes because you just don’t have enough livestock to justify buying them?
Farm & Country coordinate the grouping of Smallholder Club members in local geographic areas to share suitable animal medicine bottle sizes - this reduces waste and its associated cost. All the correct animal medicines records are correctly kept by us for shared supply and advice is available for correct selection and administration.
Likewise, handling equipment is either hired individually or similarly delivered for a number of local users to share within a specific period – say 1 week or a weekend, then collected and taken away.
Simply let us know below that you want to be included in communications regarding these schemes and we will be in touch at the appropriate times. Download the form on this link and fax or post it back to us.

We’ve had some great feedback from our customers about the new ranges . This years colours - Purple & Red/White/Blue are both very popular.
My favourite without a doubt is the Lauria Gaurelli. I am a big fan of continental styling, and the classy muted tones combines with metallic threaded detail just ooze class.
However it has been “Trojan” our wooden horse who has been getting most of the attention, dressed head to hoof in striking violet! He stands on the balcony and surveys the shop, at 16’2 and black he certainly stands out!

More Red Ribbons

|
|
Just a quick note about our sponsored riders. Sofie Butchart was again "In the red" this month gaining yet another first place in Elementary dressage at Norton Heath Equetrian centre.
Lorraine Lock came a very close second at recent Training National 1.15m Members Cup and qualified her horse Damar for Scope 2012 Show jumping tournament. We wish them luck and look forward to finding out how they get on.
Poor Shari had less luck having to call out the vet for Ollie with a suspected tendon injury. They had evented the day before with a good dressage score, only one pole down in the show jumping and a perfect round XC putting them in 13th place, not bad for his first time out! Hope you get better soon Ollie!
