Dear all,
I hope you have had a good summer, and are excitedly contemplating tupping this year, if not already in the throws.
Last year we initiated an informal monthly discussion group, following an expression of interest from a few sheep producers. Now we have a reasonable format, I have expanded the list of invitees, but it remains a relaxed informal group with no expectations that all parties will make every meeting, and remains as always was: non-exclusive. So please extend the invite to those you feel may be interested.
Given the timing, I feel the first meeting this year ought to be fertility and how to maximise lamb numbers. Though I’d also like to consider the new EBLEX online calendar.
Now, our regular slot as an aide-memoir has been the first Wednesday of the month at 7.15pm in the Rose and Crown at Writtle, and I would like to stick with that mainly except on the 1st meet. I’m away until the 6thOct, and the vet team will be busy in my absence. So I’d like to put it off til the second week, but make it the Tuesday, as I’m committed elsewhere on wed 8th. I will therefore need to confirm with the pub, but don’t expect it’ll be a problem.
So in Summary:
Please join us for the first ESDG meeting of the season in its irregular slot of Tuesday 7th October at 7.15pm, in The Rose & Crown 57 The Green, Writtle, Chelmsford CM1 3DT, 01245 420266, roseandcrownwrittle.co.uk.
We will probably be in the room upstairs. Informal chat over a pint, this occasion discussing how to maximise conception rates and litter sizes, as well as the new EBLEX eCalendar.
Hope to see you there.
Ian
