Despite industry efforts, BVD is estimated to cost the UK industry upwards of £60 million per year.   BVD is potentially having a large economic impact on your farm, in terms of herd health and productivity.        BVD control and eradication is possible on your farm, through appropriate surveillance and health planning.        Central to the success of any scheme is improved disease surveillance and the rapid detection and removal of Persistently Infected calves. Remove the source, remove the disease.        Studies have shown a Benefit:Cost ratio of 10:1.
